//Liberty Scarf Hall

//One of the key changes of the Liberty Renaissance was the new Scarf Hall. Here we wanted to create a new entrance to the store, so by removing the internal doors we helped to enlarge the room moderately, but significantly increase the sense of space. The brief was for a clean environment with the aim of creating a blank canvas so that the colourful prints of the product stands out. As you enter from Great Marlborough Street, in the wood panelled lobby there are 3 faceted mirror light boxes displaying the latest must have item of the season. Architecturally there was little to work with, so we took the reference of the wooden panelling and repeated it in this room. With bone walls and a new continuous oak floor, we hung a series of matt brass hooks and bars on the walls to display the scarves and added 2 oversized lozenge shaped scarf tables, comprising stacked bone trays for yet more amazing product. The Zebra bursting through the wall give the department an atmosphere of heritage and wilderness.
